It's time to lace up those shoes because The Great Scottish Run half marathon and 10k are back for another year in 2025.
For runners new to the event, get ready to experience Glasgow like you never have before. And for veterans of the event, get ready to experience the best year yet.
The Great Scottish Run Half Marathon
Is a 21.1km race that takes you through the heart of Glasgow. Starting at the George Square, runners will make their way through the city centre, before heading out to the south side of the city. The course then takes you through the Pollok Country Park, before heading back into the city centre and finishing in the heart of Glasgow Green.
The Great Scottish Run 10k
Also starting at the George Square, the 10k also takes you through the city centre, before heading out to the south side of the city. Looping around Scotland Street and onto Paisley Road West, before then bringing you back into the city centre and finishing in the heart of Glasgow Green.
Should I Sign Up?
Although the course starts with a daunting hill, on St Vincent street, the course is extremely suited for beginners and runners looking to tackle the half marathon for the first time.
In 2024 Daniel ran the half marathon in 1:48:15, which was his personal best and second time ever running a half marathon distance. He also thought it could be a bit of a challenge, the atmosphere and the crowds not just in the city center, but all over Glasgow help keep you motivated and pushing. He really enjoyed the entire experience and will be taking it on again in 2025. This time with his mum, looking to do her first ever half marathon in under 2 hours.
So be sure to say hi if you see him on the day!
